My First Christ-Centered Hip Hop Video
In the wake of the shocking death of Cross Movement's former member and co-founder, Enock, I came across the first Christ-centered hip hop video I'd ever seen. It ushered in a second wave of my love of the genre, as did the album this single came on. I'm so grateful to Enock, the Ambassador, Cruz Cordero, Earthquake, the Tonic, Tru-Life, and Phanatik for allowing God to penetrate their gifts and culture as He has over the past decade or so. This music critically impacted me and helped solidify my faith in the midst of plenty of life transitions, questions, and growth in my walk with Christ. My thanks to them and Christian hip hop overall is beyond words.

A Walk in Progress: Example 1
Not long ago, several highly talented, former NBA stars were inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame. Needless to say, the honor was immense for these men, their families, their teams, and anyone who has ever had anything to do with their success.
A highlight of the ceremony was the acceptance speech of "The Admiral," David Robinson. I'll just say this: among many other amazing characteristics of David's speech, I was most impressed by his ability to make his faith a part of his identity that naturally flowed well with his remarks. David didn't have to say "First honoring God, Who is the Head of my life ..." or even "I would first like to thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ ..." To the contrary, David Robinson is a disciple of Christ who just said what was natural to him and consistent with his lifestyle.
It appears The Admiral isn't merely a church-goer. He's not even a person who feels the need to preach his faith by words alone. He walks with God. And everyone there expected nothing less than remarks that emanated from David's walk. This is why his acceptance of this award is what I'll call "A Walk in Progress."
